A discovery flight is an introductory flight lesson during which you will get to take controls and feel what its like to manipulate a plane as you soar through the sky. Perfect for those wanting to cross flying a plane off their bucket list, those planning on starting flight training, and anyone in-between.
Whether you are wanting to fly for fun or make it a career, this is where you will start. I will lead you from your first flight to your first solo to your checkride - teaching you eveything you need to know to be a safe and confident pilot.
Aspire for more than just recreational flying? Start your career training by becoming a commercial pilot.
If it has been more than 24 calendar months since your last flight review or checkride, it is time for a biannual flight review. Pilots will meet the 14 CFR 61.56 requirements, in addition to any specific training requested.
Pilots with a private pilot certificate or higher who are wanting to fly the C172 or Piper Archer at Shilling Aviation will need to complete a checkout flight. This consists of a ground lesson over aircraft specific chracteristics and a flight to ensure safety and familiarity with the airframe.
